Saverne?? ...Never heard of it?? Well the Annual Suzuki Offroad event has been running for many years. It's like the Rhino Rally but in the sunshine. Over 100 people attended the 2009 event, traveling from all over europe to be there.
This year I am organising a trip to this well established Offroad event which is held on the 26th & 27th of June 2010. Saverne is in France near Strasbourg, on border of France and Germany.
If you want to more learn click HERE! and it'll take you to the official event website.... Have a look, and If you like the sound of it then read on.
Here's the route
It all kicks of on the 24th when we leave the UK. We spend the night on a campsite
in Belgium, Continue through Belgium and Luxembourg into Germany briefly and finally
pop over the border into France to Saverne. We’ll have 2 days of Offroading fun inc
Trialing, Rock crawling Comp, Bog run, etc (Bit like the Old Rhino Rally, but in
the sunshine!) There is evening entertainment (Beer tent) and prize presentations
for comp winners on the Saturday night, and on the Sunday it’s a play day.
We leave
Saverne on the Monday morning, (Tired and Muddy) again camp overnight in Belgium,
and Catch the Ferry back to the UK on Tuesday the 29th.
The price for all this is just £169!!!
This includes The Ferry, The Camping and the Tickets to the Event.
(1 Vehicle & 2 persons.)
£169.00 That’s Cheap! I hear you cry! ….. Well there are
a few conditions..
1, You have to DRIVE your SUZUKI…
This means you have to be road legal as we will be travelling in convoy there will
be a 50mph speed limit (even SJ410’s can do 50mph!….maybe…downhill )
2, You must have European Breakdown cover …. If you do break down we will do what
we can to help, but if it’s terminal then you’re on your own. (not fair to spoil
everyone’s fun)
3, We are ambassadors for our Country! ….. There has never been an organised trip from the UK to this Event, so we need to show our European friends that we are not all Lager Louts.
(I’d like to be welcome next year!)
4, I know this next bit is obvious but I have to say it…
You must have a GOOD SPARE TYRE, Tents sleeping bags etc, Enough Money for Fuel and
Food, Oil and Water in your Engine will help! a few Euro’s in your pocket as Showers
can be extra on campsites in Europe. A good sense of humour, (No miserable buggers
allowed!) Current Full driving licence and Passport and most important of all BEER!!
5, SUZUKI’s ONLY …. Sorry but all lesser vehicles are not welcome!
Still Interested??
I’m limiting the numbers to 10 -
